"Spy School Secret Service" Review (Faisal)
Introduction:
(WARNING: This post contains spoilers)
Hello, everyone! This blog post will be about the fifth book in the Spy School Series, which is Spy School Secret Service by Stuart Gibbs. Have you ever heard of the Secret Service? Well, I was not aware of this before reading this book. If you are not aware, the Secret Service is a federal law enforcement agency that protects politicians of the United States (and deals with some criminal investigation). This book is going to mention the Secret Service numerous times, so I just thought it would be nice to make you aware of this. If you already know this, then good for you!
In the next section, I will talk about what I enjoyed and disliked about this book.
What I liked:
1. The evil organization's plot is very stunning. Compared to the other books in the Spy School series, the evil organization's (a.k.a SPYDER) plot is distinctly different from previous attempts to cause chaos.
2. Has unexpected plot twists. This aspect is present in all books in this series. This makes the book more mysterious and adventurous. This book's plot, in fact, is unique compared to the previous books, which I enjoyed.
3. The book provides some trivial information for readers, which could be considered fun facts. For example, this book mentions the Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff and other types of government-related facts, which I thought was kind of interesting.
What I disliked:
1. The plot moves slowly. It takes pages to finish one scene, but this means that he provides great details for us readers to visualize. This may be my opinion since I was too excited to read this book to find out the solution to the mystery. I wanted to read what happened next to get to the conclusion, so I may have felt that the plot speed gets slower.
Summary:
Benjamin Ripely was activated on Operation Pungent Muskrat to stop a presidential assassination. During his mission, he eventually figures out that he is being used by the bad guys and nearly blows up the president. He becomes a fugitive, so he tries to prove his innocence to multiple agencies, including his own (the CIA). He gets through many adventurous and daunting situations. I am skipping lots of things so that it would not be a huge spoiler. I think it is worth reading it since the author has an incredible way of making his books engaging. Have fun reading!
This book sounds like it has quite an exciting plot line. While slow, it is hard to tell what might happen next. Very interesting sounding book
ReplyDeleteI really like the organization of this blog post. The distinct sections for the pros and the cons just look really nice and neat to me. Also, usually the summary goes first in the blog posts that I have read so its cool that its kind of an interesting choice to put it last. You content was pretty good, as I think you provided some pretty solid reasons. Overall great blog post.
ReplyDeleteThere's even more Spy School? Wow, I didn't expect for it to be this long of a series. I haven't read this one because I stopped reading the series a few years ago.
